These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BudgetBit ("Service"), a web application for tracking personal finances, built and operated solely by Dawid Bartczak ("I", "me", or "my") — an individual developer based in the European Union, not a company or legal entity. When these Terms use "we," "us," or "our," they refer to Dawid Bartczak personally. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
BudgetBit is a personal finance tracking application that allows users to record and categorise transactions, track loans, view analytics, manage budgets, and import or export financial data as CSV files. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
The Service is provided on an ongoing basis and may evolve over time. Features may be added, changed, or removed. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes in advance.
To use the Service, you must:
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately at contact@budgetbit.com.
You may create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with your Google account. Account authentication is managed by Supabase.
You may delete your account at any time from the account settings within the Service. Deletion removes your account and associated financial data from our systems.
You retain full ownership of the financial data you enter into the Service (transactions, loans, and other records). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
We do not analyse your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties.
You can export your data at any time in CSV format using the built-in export feature. We encourage you to maintain your own backups.
Important: BudgetBit is a personal record-keeping tool and does not provide financial advice, tax advice, or any form of regulated financial service. The information in the Service reflects only what you have entered and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional financial or accounting services.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
The Service relies on the following third-party providers to operate. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your use is also subject to their respective terms:
We are not responsible for the availability, actions, or content of these third-party services.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for:
As BudgetBit is a free, individually run project, my total personal liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed €50 (fifty euros) or the amount you have paid to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
EU consumers: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection law, including the right to remedies where the Service does not conform to these Terms.
BudgetBit and its original content, design, features, and functionality are the personal work of Dawid Bartczak and are protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of the Service without permission.
Your financial data and content remain your property. We claim no intellectual property rights over the data you enter into the Service.
By you: You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the account settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:
Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice before terminating your account. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
BudgetBit may offer paid features or subscription plans in the future. If and when paid features are introduced, we will clearly communicate the pricing, what is included, and the applicable payment terms before any charges are made. You will not be automatically charged without your explicit agreement.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance (for example, via a notice within the Service or by email).
If you continue to use the Service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable EU consumer law.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at contact@budgetbit.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland, subject to any mandatory local consumer law rights you may have.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for resolving disputes: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BudgetBit regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
